Description

* We have received reports that General Cargo Ship, FRAUKE (IMO: 9376488) came into contact with Bulk carrier, CELESTE (IMO: 9588419) whilst at anchor at Singapore on 13 February 2026.

* CELESTE is a 2012-built bulk carrier having a gross tonnage of 22,137 tonnes and was proceeding from Changshu (China) to Chennai (India) at the time of the incident.

* The collision reportedly occurred as FRAUKE dragged its anchor whereupon the starboard aft quarter of the FRAUKE contacted the bow of the CELESTE.

* FRAUKE sustained damage at various locations along its length and the anchor chain of the CELESTE became entangled around FRAUCKE’s tail-shaft, as a consequence of the collision.

* It is reported that divers removed the anchor chain and made temporary repairs to the propeller blades, whilst tugs were in attendance to provide assistance to the vessel.

* Shipowners have declared General Average in view of the extra-ordinary costs incurred as a result of the collision. Consequently, General Average security will be required from all cargo stowed on board the vessel at the time of the incident, prior to the delivery of the cargo, and we may be able to assist in that regard. We have already been instructed by particular Cargo Insurers and we may therefore be able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third-party costs which may need to be incurred.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board the vessel at the time of the incident so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
