* We have received reports that the general cargo vessel ROYAD MAMMADOV (IMO: 9356969) was struck by a drone whilst navigating approximately 30 nautical miles south of Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania, on 5 October 2026.
* A fire was reportedly ignited on board and the vessel is reported to have experienced a significant ingress of water and developed a significant list as a consequence of the incident.
* Unfortunately, two crew members are reported to be missing whilst the remaining crew members were rescued from the vessel, with some injuries reported.
* We understand that the local authorities are seeking to take the vessel under tow to a place of safety, if practicable.
